That's really sporting of you rinabean, on your first post, to admit to something silly! Welcome on board. I think you'll fit in well and look forward to hearing some more of your funny little habits!!
It goes without saying really that yes, of course I talk to my vegetables, but they are "my sweeties", "my dears", "my beauties" or "my dahlings". All titles are prefixed with "Come along now" and you will never hear me using that particular tone of voice at Himself who needs no encouragement
Sorry, but I talk to my plants in a non-gender specific way, much as the Pogles (anyone remember them?), with their lovely west country accents, talked to their magic bean plant:
"Morning, plaaants"!
If you remember the Pogles, here's a bit of nostalgia
Turned a plank of wood over to be greeted by tens of baby slugs. I did the natural thing and stamped on them. Hard. Then got back to digging.
I too would be hard pressed to find compassion in my heart for a slug, baby or otherwise. In fact there is infinite pleasure to be found in cutting the big ones in half
I knew I could rely on you, HH, to personalise your plants!
I forgot about Claude the courgette! And apparently this year, one of the Aubergines-should it come off- is to be christened Nietzche. I'll be intrigued if anyone who got Bruno babies names 'em
