That's good, as you should n'er cast a clout till the May is out - and it ain't out yet!

[For those of you that may require it, a wee explanation: a "clout" is a cloth, or in this case, clothes.... so don't go getting you summer wardrobe out of the loft untill the Hawthorn flowers!]

Um, the hawthorn is flowering, here!!

Will my sweetcorn be ok in the greenhouse? Am worried I've cast the poor little beggars out too soon, now. Had to pot on the tomatoes, too, also in the greenhouse. Crossing fingers that we just get rain and no cold weather!

Accuweather's long range forecast shows these chiily temperatures all the way through April.

So I'm not planning on any early planting this year

I have a cover of body hair** so a bit of cold is wasted on me.

Wee blanket of snow on the Cairngorms today. The sun is shining here but as soon as it left our building I had to put the heater on.

What's wrong with seaweed, I keep that nailed to the shed. Last week I was using it to sharpen my knife and wipe the sweat from my brow, and this week well, its a scarf.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that statistically in the UK we are more likely to see snow at easter than at christmas.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I find it hard to get excited about snow early April. I remember holidaying in Cumbria in May with snow.. Seems perfectly normal to me.

What is a drought? Lots of rain here since Christmas and reservoirs were full last time I looked. Local streams are full. My water barrel is full. My grass is green.
