  • eBay: buyers with strikes. Zazen/Snadger did you know..

    eBay: buyers who don't pay.

I always open an unpaid item dispute, and get my fees back. The naughty buyer gets a "strike" against them. I was somehow under the impression that they were barred after 3 strikes (maybe they were in the good old days).

I also naively thought that eBay would tell you, the seller, when a buyer had strikes: but they don't. If you want to avoid these timewasters, you have to alter your preferences, and it's all hidden away in the small print.

Yes, I have quite stringent buyer preferences set up. Less sales but very little money lost through eejits.

      I thought you would have

It's not the money I'm losing, it's patience mostly, and time. These people are just rude.

Last year I had one who bought a plant from me for 1p (I just wanted shot of it). Never showed up.

I kept emailing, do you want this or can I offer it to someone else? Never answered, so I opened an unpaid item dispute: they paid. Then, left me totally negative feedback ! Said I was not to be trusted, unreliable etc etc. I only found out about the feedback because another seller contacted me to warn me about this buyer and they'd done it to about 6 people in one day (troll).

eBay wouldn't budge, wouldn't remove the feedback, wouldn't listen to me.

I've only had one negative feedback from a seller - who basically didn't send the stuff as he obviously didn't have it at the time - he left so much bad feedback that it was all removed shortly after.

Keep on at ebay - give them links to all the people they have left bad feedback for and if you all can do it, and you get the right person, it can be removed.
