Oops ! Welshing on my holiday plans...

So there I was, all nicely organised for transport, phoned my friend down in Skegness to give her the good news that I was finally organised.
Turns out she is going to Wales on the 14th, to climb Snowdon... So now the suggestion is that I go straight to Hull with my folks on the 11th, get a lift down to Skegness from there with my friend, and then spend a few days with her. Depending on weather and health, then go to Wales and then back to Scotland, or off to York/Scarborough, or just straight back home.
Any Grapes in Wales near Snowdon want to meet up on the 15th/16th ?
I really fancy seeing some of the allotments you folks have down there in that subtropical paradise...

Sorry Snohare, but most of us Welsh grapes are too far away from the Snowdon area - we are all down in SOUTH Wales. Wish it was a subtropical paradise here sometimes! Suppose anywhere is warmer than Aberdeenshire

Hi snohare. How are you getting to north Wales? I am a short detour off the m56 if travelling by car. I can see snowdon from here but it is the other side of the dee estuary and on some.....great if you could stop by to see our tropical lotties. By car you will be passing by Warrington too.......

Well, amazing though this may seem to you Newton...I'm not awfully sure !
By car from Skegness, that much I know, and I think the idea is to travel on the evening of Sunday the 14th, getting there in time to book into the local YHA. I have not a scoobie what route we would take.
The others are going up Snowdon on the 15th, but frankly I fancy doing something a bit less strenuous and a bit more touristy. It's years since I have been up a hill, never mind one that big !
Then on the 16th, book out and go back East; I'm not sure if a lift elsewhere will be possible with the other person who will be there, apparently she is from Wales but I don't know where.
So...you growing any pineapples this year, or do dates need less water ?

Mally, it looks (at present !) as if I will be in Scarborough on the 17th, York on the 18th, and off on a choo choo back North (if I can bribe the border guards to let me back in ) on the 19th. But needless to say, when exactly I arrive or leave each of these places, I do not know. I may be getting to Scarborough late on the 16th and York late on the 17th, or I might leave Scarborough early on the 18th. (So far, it sounds like the campsite in York is better than the one in Scarborough, but it all depends on whether there is other accomodation available for the dog there; if so, I have the offer of kipping at a friend's dog-free flat.)
Right now, I would just settle for somewhere easy to get to, which means less humping a heavy rucsac around, but that's just me being tired today !

I will PM you Newton if I am coming anywhere near you, I know that at some point - later in the holiday - I am hoping to get to a good place for buying some small amounts of seed tatties; up here it costs a small fortune to get them sent up, getting to out of town garden centres is difficult for me, so quite apart from wanting to see what kind of allotments, and nurseries etc you have darn Sarff it might be easier for me to go to Wales or Yorkshire to pick up half a dozen Sarpos !
