My heart is breaking for you. Good luck, if it comes to it, at least you get to hold her at the end....

Brody is having more blood tests and a scan on Monday. If these are inconclusive I'm going to call time no matter what daughter says.

My other daughter is coming home for a short visit today . I think she'll have a shock when she sees her.

When our puss cat developed an inoperable growth we were warned she would go downhill gradually but that we would know ourselves when the time came what needed to be done. That proved to be totally correct but it didn't stop it being the worst decision I've ever had to make.

The important thing is to remember that whatever decision you make, make it for the benefit of your own puss cat. It's one thing to keep it going for its sake. Totally different to keep it going for the sake of the family.

You do have my heart felt sympathy.

Well it's all over now anyway. When I got up this morning I found her lying in her litter tray. She died on my daughters lap on the way to the vet. It was pneumonia that finished her off and we'll never know what the original illness was. The vet nurse couldn't believe she was only 8, she looked like a really old cat.

She's buried in the garden now along with 3 others. Just need to think of something to plant on top of her.

Thanks for all the messages and support. It's a relief now. If we do go somewhere at the end I hope all my pets are there too.

Sorry to hear about your loss Donna, but I know what you mean when you say it's a relief. It's sometimes harder to see them suffer and how helpless you feel when you can't do anything to make it better, than to let them go. Big hugs to you

O Donna I'm so sorry that your precious cat has gone. At least you know that you tried everything possible to get her well again and in the end didn't have to make any awful decisions yourself.

It's terrible for us to have to stand by and watch them suffer isn't it because they are part of our families, not just pets.
