Got an Easter Egg from daughter and boyfriend. It's on top of the kitchen cupboard for when I have a chocolate emergency.

I have some very old single sided singles - do they count as a double? (Sounds a bit like bedding )

Just pulled out a small box of mini eggs as we go home to brum. This reminded me!

Yeah, happy Easter. I keep getting prodded to make an effort; what with the reserve price of three camels and a goat. Or as VVG adds, a coutts account. All around me, last years brides have yielding to babies and bumps. Not quite sure where it shoe horns in, and I know that the reserve price will not be met with me sat on a shelf collecting dust.

Pity party over, I'm having the rest of them eggs...

Having lived with 'em and without 'em, life is what you make it either way! Would I want any chap with three camels and a goat? No way! I had one of those before...Coutts is the way forward, oh and a sunny disposition

I have a question, and there's nowhere esle to put it really, so it can go here

I love christmas, and I'm not religious, I love it for the pretty lights and the evergreens and the reds and the colours etc.
I always had to be told when easter was since as I mentioned, not religious, and don't really get it. Is it the same as Christmas as a holiday, or is it just you know, easter eggs and kids stuff?
                  This is a genuine question.....

For those who are religious this is the most important event on the annual calendar. Easter being more significant than Christmas. Christmas being the birth of Christ. Easter being the time when Christ was resurrected after he died on the cross. It has more significance because it's considered a longer period of happening in the church calendar. Christmas also has pagan links as a winter festival, whereas Easter is a truly religious holiday. Does that explain it?

If Easter has no pagan links, why do we call it Easter, and not a derivative of "Paschal season" as much of the rest of Europe does?

thanks vc, but it wasn't the religious thing I meant. I meant the rest of it, all the non-religious bits...is the entire weekend seen as a christmas type occasion but just at this time of year?
In other words, are people subject to the same kind of familial pressures at easter as they are at christmas, is it a family time....

Likewise. I was gonna ask what a family was.
