Odd asks on Freecycle!

Some folk ask for the strangest items on Freecycle! Behind every request there lies a story!
Here's one that's just appeared:-

"We need a wedding dress to fit a 6'2" boy for a young ffarmers
rally.I think a size 14 or bigger would do.condition not important lol."

The best 'offer' I saw was "Child's potty chair and toddler stool".

It had me chuckling for days.

What will they try to Freecycle next? Hope no-one offered them a small deposit.....

I've often wondered if I offered the fluff from under my bed whether someone would take it! On another point so often offers start "received this from another Freecycler but never used it". Why ask for it is you really didn't need it.

i've seen offers of:
2 bin bags of used wrapping paper on boxing day
half a jar of pickled eggs
two tampons (the giver no longer has periods)
one left welly (lost the right one)
jigsaw puzzle with 2 missing pieces
and loads more ....
all were taken .....

They ask for some amazing things - caravans, boats, cars and all sorts of really expensive stuff - I wouldn't have the cheek!

Yes, I'd noticed that! I wouldn't have the cheek to ask for something that big/expensive!!

I think you would be surprised at what is given away. Don't forget that Freecycle was set up to keep things out of landfill. Some people do have cars, caravans and the like that they are happy for people to just take away; it saves them the trouble of dealing with disposal. I know that most of us are more frugal, but I know some have been lucky enough to get large items. You just have to ask at the right time.

It is those who ask for a specific model, colour and even for it to be delivered that are taking the mick.

When I'm contacted about things I've offered, I always check on people's history to see how much they've offered. Then I chose who I give to .
