I dipped my toe into Freecycle yesterday for the first time ever. My husband had a full hip replacement in January and the NHS supplied us with brand new crutches and raised toilet seat with frame. They even delivered and set the heights.
He used the seat for around two weeks and then managed without so once the crutches were also finished with we asked if we could return them.
Crutches yes, bring them next appointment, raised toilet seat and frame - forget it. We don't re-use them!!
As it was getting in the way, and having followed this thread, I thought I might as well offer it. I got two hits within half an hour. I posted the offer about noon and it was gone by 4.30pm
I was going to try and lug it down to the charity shop so this saved my diesel and time.
No wonder the NHS is running out of money though.

Almost worth putting a couple of plants in so people will dig over your garden bed for you!

A friend is trying to get a stove top on freecycle for us. It's a 2 hour drive away for us so hard to do any quick pickups, but she wants a drive to the country so fingers x'd here.

I got knocked off my pushbike and managed to freecycle that, despite a bent frame and two squished wheels. And that in Oxford which seems to have broken bikes everywhere!
