Quite often NO decision is worse than any of the options you were considering.
I often discuss it, but I usually find that talking about it, rather than the answers I get, help me come to a conclusion. I think we mostly know, subconsciously, what we are going to do, and 'decision methods' are simply a way of getting that answer where we can see it.Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

With small or unimportant decisions, I just do it, gut reaction. With big things, I dither!

I think some of it depends on how you view the outcome of your decisions. I'm not necessarily a very positive person but I don't see any point in playing over and over what might (but might not) have happened if you had taken the other road. You didn't and as you only have one life then there's not point dwelling on what ifs. This takes away some of the risks with making the decision in the first place and as somebody else said, procastinating if often the worst thing to do. However I have a friend who is always revisiting her decisions but with rose tinted glasses and as a result loses out on a lot of the pleasure she could be getting with her life as it is (she acutally has a good life, with a nice husband, good job which she likes and a much wanted child but as they struggled to conceive she was constantly dwelling on her belief she'd left it too late and forgetting the pleasure she had had during that time and that if she'd tricked her OH into a baby when he wasn't ready that it might well have split them up). Hope this makes sense but they way you judge yourself does make a difference and I'm too lazy for regrets.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

It all depends for me if the decision involves emptying my pockets.
If it does I explore, research, re-research, consider, cogitate, re-evaluate, and go with the best probable outcome after first working really hard to get it for less.
If it doesn't involve my pockets, whatever...it doesn't matter.
You see I'm a bloke and emotion doesn't come into any decision.Last edited by Mikey; 12-04-2012, 11:12 AM.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure.
Once the decision is made then move forward with it, hindsight may be a wonderful thing but it doesn't help to wonder what would have happened if you had made another choice.Last edited by Capsid; 12-04-2012, 11:12 AM.

You could of course put all of us nosey ones out of our misery, tell us your decision and let us come up with an even more muddled pile of options. xxthe fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

I'm not an impulsive person, I'm a planner. I'll get an idea of what I want (new pet) then do a bit of research into suitable variety. Then I'll work out a financial plan: savings for the purchase & for subsequent expenses (vet bills, boosters).
Then I'll look around for suppliers, talk to a few, see a few animals.
