Frost hardiness

Found an interesting site about when to plant out flowers and veg according to their frost hardiness- or not!

It's an American site- but if you know your average last frost date it'll give you an idea.

Oops I left my daughter's sunflower seedlings out last night and it reached -0.5° in the greenhouse. They are still standing firm today though...best not tell her!

Last year the problem here wasn't late frosts - it was continual nights throughout 'summer' when the temp was only 10C.

Not enough to kill outright but lots of stuff sulked and cropped poorly

It lists sunflower as tender (which I agree with) and yet every packet I've ever had lists them as hardy
