I agree. I've been a fan of Sir David since I was a little girl. He's been my hero. I think he's been a great inspiration to many and the fact that he has stayed popular all these years speaks for itself.

But of course there is still plenty of room for new people in the natural history field and I am all for new talent.

And after all, Sir David is well into his 80's now and won't be able to carry on for ever (sadly!).

Regards Alan - I feel the same as FF - I like him as a gardener but not on the chat shows.

There are other wildlife presenters, unfortunately their style of presentation is (by comparison with Attenborough) dumbed down.
Titch is OK in moderation, at least he is INTERESTED in what he does. I seem to recall that mostly he is on when they CAN'T find anyone else, he's what you might call 'reliable' and rarely actually upsets anyone...

Attenborough is a hero of mine too and I think an inspiration to many generations.

Alan was the first gardener I ever heard talking about plants being sexy. Now that's passion!

The titch is an absolute god of men .... if i wasn't married and he wasn't I would be stalking him. Met him a GW live a while ago and I nearly fainted .. swoon. My husband thinks I'm strange by the way

The only thing that bugs me about Alan is he gave up GW to work on ITV but still comes back to BBC to do the coverage of Chelsea flower show. Just because Chelsea is prestigious!
