Last night I had a marathon job hunting session, and applied for anything I thought I MIGHT be able to do. Result - 3 offers for interview came through today.
However, one I did not remember applying for, a sales and marketing job. When I took the phone call I didn't recognise the company name, but thought maybe it had passed through an agency. I made an appointment, and the guy emailed me directions, a website and confirmation of the day and time. When I clicked on the website link I was taken to a registered site, with no content, so I returned to the email and ran a check on the company, which only started up in Feb. The two listed directors are quite young (22 and 23), one very interested in rugby according to his twitter account.
After doing this, I tried the weblink again, this time a website appeared, but saying the company had been running since 2004. The website says there is no cost to the client if the results of the sales campaign are not satisfactory, which then made me wonder if it is really a self employed position (commission only) rather than basic plus comission. As I can't find details of where I found the job I can't check the wording used. OH says to go along anyway, it might be a good opportunity, whereas I'm wondering if it will be a waste of time and petrol. I'm inclined to email and ask a few more questions before going to the interview. What would you do?
