Suggestions for old trug use!

I have a plastic truggy thing with broken handles so I can't use it to carry things around.
Should I:-
1. Drill holes in it and plant in it
2. use it for holding potting compost
3. catch water in it
4. throw it away (no way)
5. give it to chris
Or what can you suggest?

I am physically unable to chuck it away - for one thing its a beautiful turquoise blue....

Holes in the bottom (the trug VC the trug) and grow in it. But then I would wouldn't I. I mean it will be a 40ltr container if its like mine.

Being a professional incompetent, what's the best way to drill holes in it and would holes in the side (maybe 1" up) be better than ones in the bottom?

Fill it with JI number 3 place it outside your front or back door with lavender in it and as you walk by you will have a lovely fragrance.

Steve, I'm going to do just that! I'll post a photo when its done for you! Now, does my favourite Domestic Goddess have any tips for using dried lavender?

I Used a piece of hot copper pipe to make my holes but a 6 inch nail or such like would do the job.

Pick the flower heads when they are looking gorgeous and smelling even more wonderful. Keep them on their stalks and tie in bunches of about ten stems and hang upside down in a warm, dry, dark, well-ventilated place. Airing cupboard, warm loft or outhouse is great. Ideal drying conditions are 32 degrees C for the first 24 hours, then 24-26C thereafter. Allow to dry fully - anything from one to three weeks. Once fully dried, remove flowers and place in bags (I think you need quite a close weave fabric or they poke through)
