Saw some lavender whilst at Dyffryn, it was called ice blue, I think.
Light fragrance but excellent for insects

I love lavender, have about 4 different types here. All in places where you have to brush against it when you pass.
Gave a lot of lavender heads to a friend who makes jam - it was returned as lavender jelly. Very delicate.

C'mon VC, you're letting the girlies down now. Get yerself some copper pipe and make those holes. No man needed............ well, one did give me the idea (cheers Colin), but now I'm flying solo on the drainage making front. I've now put the 6" copper pipe with a pair of pliers in my large seed box ready for action.

Try the copper pipe Piskie, you'll be hooked.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

Mal, I take no credit for this. But Colin suggested heating up the end of a piece of copper pipe and pushing it through the bottom of buckets etc to make holes. I can vouch for it's simplicity. 'Like a hot knife through butter' best describes it.

I spent a happy hour with a heap of Morrisons buckets making three holes in each, just on the angle of the 'pimple' to give good drainage. I've also progressed to using a Phillips screwdriver for yoghurt pots......... there are no beginnings to my talents!

ere's a wee radicle thought. If the handle is broken, why not make a new one? You could even use a length of copper pipe bent into a hoop. Holes drilled at each end. Matching holes drilled at each side of the trug. Nuts and bolts through the holes or even the plastic thingies used for the handles of flymo mowers with a split pin or an "R" pin to hold in place.
