I could have said "look in the mirror" but I thought it might upset you, so I didn't!

      How fantastic!

Yesterday my OH was in our field and heard 'our ' cookoo ( it's been around for a few weeks now)
He immitated it's call and it flew through the copice to see what was going on.
He said it flew really quickly and squarked when it spotted him and legged it asap ( can a bird 'leg it' in flight????)
Wouldn't come near him after that.

How about trying to copy it's call? You may be as lucky as he was!!

Hmm, this is worth a try but what I really want to see is a boring brown bird (ok, back to the mirror!!! Although my hair has a lot of grey now a days)

Might try this if I can pin down the call to not-a-neighbour's-garden AND if the weather ever encourages me to go outside to play!

Can you give us a shout when you decide to go out and imitate it P&K? I think there may be a queue for the coach

Have just spent the last hour on the link you sent - sheding a tear for Clement and Martin (what a woos!) and getting excited at Lyster being back in UK! Lets hope we get a report on Contryfile or summut on the TV!

Must try the "cuckoo" noise to see if I can flush "our" cuckoo out, but haven't heard him since.

                (happy bird here!)
