Probably a bit of a sit down, a bit of chocolate and a bit of looking on here

                        • I'm from Lancashire, when i hear someone from lancashire on the television i always cringe you know straight away a northern person and im quite broad northern, so i know i sound like the ones on the tv. I dont think its laziness i think its regional.

The kids particularly my 5 year old is starting to pick up a northerness and dropping letters (mainly t's) from words like 'compu'er' 'star'ing', it drives me mad and if she (or her step brother do it in front of me) i make them repeat the correct word 3 times before they finish there sentence, because though im broad northern i still insist on pronouncing my words properly.

I find dialect quite interesting, i was speaking to some people in russia (when i was learning russian last year) and the discussion was what i was having for tea i said i was going to have a 'chip barm' we then had a good 10 minute conversation about what a chip barm was, my friend couldn't get around a fried potato chopped up on a two pieces of bread

I've just realised I can never have a chip butty ever ever again. That's it then. Game Over.

                            • This is such a daft idea I have to write it down! Wouldn't it be fun if, instead of writing our messages, we could speak them aloud on here. I feel there might be a lot of Pardon? going on.
