Dialect or Lazyness

Even though born & bred, I've always thought Yorkshire to be a lazy accent. For example we (or I) always drop the "H" or replace it with an "N".............i.e

I'm going to book a noliday........
I'll be there in a nour.......
He's a nandsome young man...........
A namburger please.........
I've got a neadache.......

I just wondered if other regions have similar features that break the rules of the English language.

What annoys me is when chefs on tv say "erbs" instead of "herbs"

Mr VVG is a Leeds boy, but you would never know it now. Our neighbour from Yorkshire still has a very thick accent fifteen years on. But when we went to a concert in Sheffield and the young girl behind us said and I quote..."Shall we guzz tut oilet?" We all giggled!

The only Yorkshire I hear now is when Mr VVG says in reference to Emmerdale (if it's on)...trouble ut mill!

As a Cumbrian who 'left home to join the R.A.F." One of my biggest regrets is that I've lost most of my Cumbrian accent. I trained at R.A.F. Halton (one of Trenchards Brats) and no Southerners could understand me. I.E. "Tek a deek at that" (Take a look at that) A radge gadgee (a silly person). Chora (excellent).

The Cumbrian dialect /language is unique as all the letters are emphasized. It was nice to hear the dialects even through the sad events of 'Whithaven and Wukington ' with the floods a few years back.

Actually, I say 'erbs as well (no, I'm not French) in fact I don't pronounce any "h" - I'm the same as Bigmallly - 'onest.
