You probably already know about my crowded stayput (not mushroom in there). The toms are desperately awaiting being moved into their final buckets, but then they have to go outside and I'm not willing to sacrifice any of them yet. I cleared the windowsills to make room for squashes and now I have tryffids who are also waiting to go outside.

we had sun the last two days, rain this morning, sun this afternoon and now torrential rain again. I'm growing rice. Or water chestnuts.

I'd be really despondent if the weeds were growing but it's been so cold and wet up here that nothing is moving at all.

Too right it is. Moved plot earlier in the year and my old plot didn't have it but this one is full of it. Really annoying weed as seems to have masses of fibrous roots which hold onto the clay soil really well. Can't just hoe it as too wet it won't die in the sun.

We has sun over the weekend and my tomato plants in the greenhouse seem to have doubled in size in that time. Can't see it being a top tomato year if the sun doesn't appear soon.

Grid lock in the greenhouse here at Headfry's
All the stuff that should be out is still in the greenhouse. Now the lack of space and pots is stopping me sowing the rest of my seeds.....grrrrr

at least we are all in the same boat together!!LOL
it would be annoying if one little pocket of the country was having good weather whilst everyone else got flooded or snowed under!!
Most of my not so ickle plants are stacked up on my bathroom windowsill. Ive just turned the heating off in the hopes of slowing down the squashes, beans and toms so they dont run out of space before they can go outside.

I so fed up with cold and dark and rain, and my poor seedlings don't like it either. When is someone going to turn the sun on?

It is my first year having an allotment, I got it back in April and its virtually not stopped raining since so I too have not been able to do what I had planned to yet. I know it sounds stupid, but how late is too late to sow things such as sweetcorn, runner beans etc? I have put off sowing things but do you just get to a point where you just have to sow regardless of weather and hope for the best?
