No, I used to have a plate of 'Don't knows', as in, 'What do you want for tea?'

I actually had my mouth washed out with soap. My sister pinned me down (she's the sh*t who taught me the swear word!!) and mother did the deed. I tried to protest that I'd said 'ship'.

I always thought Thick as pig sh*t was a Lancashire expression...In her first job my sister used to see TAPS written on some client's notes

        Did anyone else get this,

I used to ask my mother as a kid, what's for tea?

Answer : Bees Knees and Chickens Elbows. (stop bothering me I haven't decided yet!!)

I find I say this to my own daughter now, but the OH doesn't like it.

One of my favourites growing up was, concoction.

This was a tin of beans, a tin of minced beef and onion, a tin of chopped tomatoes, and a few shakes of Worcestershire sauce mixed together and served on a bed of rice as though it were chili. Ah the good old days...

I still eat that Mikey but without the tin of minced beef! A tin of beans in chilli sauce makes it even more like the "real" thing!

What do you mean "Good old days"..............when I was a tot we ate a lot of "Sh1t wi' sugar". That's the only answer we got when we asked what was for tea.

Mum brought me up on her own and we weren't well off. The main thing I remember her saying (as I was dropped off at friends and relatives) was 'eat as much as you can'!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
