Wishing them both lots of luck. Surely it's a positive sign if hubby is doing a work trial?

lets hope so, there just isn't much out there and his age does seem to be against him.......we've never seemed to have much luck (apart from finding each other)

I lost my job a couple of years ago. I was absolutely devastated, it really knocked the stuffing out of you. The worst part for me was applying for jobs and companies not bothering to reply.
I understand they now get 100's of people applying, but it's not difficult to send out an email to those who haven't been successful is it?
I trained as a nutritionist and when I lost my job (due to the economic climate) I applied for anything and everything going. I was told by someone in our local job centre that it was highly unlikely that I'd get any job around here as I was too over qualified!! Utter rubbish! I wanted to work...I NEEDED to work. I applied as a Christmas temp at my local Asda and was taken on. I've been there ever since, and although it's only part time, I absolutely love it! I still keep my hand in at my local gym doing the odd nutritional plan for some of the guys there, plus I have more time in the garden.
Mr Wadders has just got to persever and not to take any of it personally. I really do think today is a positive! I'll keep everything crossed for you.x x

Everything crossed for you here - let me know the outcome as I find it hard to drive with my eyes crossed!
One of my boys got his license not long ago and it's such a relief (altho a worry for different reasons)
Best of luck with the job. It's hard but the more you try for the more likely to get one.

B*gger indeed! My son failed the first time. Two things wrong. But you only need one! Next time he sailed thru TG. So get him booked in again before he loses his nerve.
Best of luck to your hubby tomorrow!

It's good experience to fail...he'll know what to expect next time.

                            Fingers still crossed for hubby.

Good wishes for your husband. Ageism is alive and well and so are bad manners. At least if you have a positive rejection you know you can apply to that firm again.
