  • Pastures new.

Due to circumstances of my own doing, I am likely to have to give up my old plot.

However, in my new life I have the opportunity to possibly have a new plot, and a willing partner.

Has anyone else made a move? How did you adjust?

Whatever the circumstances are in your new life I hope everything works out as you would want.

I gave my half of my plot this year, mainly due to the constraints of family life, and a request by our committee. Last year I had given half of my plot to my neighbour (strictly not allowed), as I didn't have time to do it all. He did nothing with it at all.

The problems with gardening with a friend, neighbour even family member is sharing the load equally. Invariably one is more committed than the other. As you have a youngun time is very precious, and I would feel concerned that you would feel guilty about not doing as much as your partner if their circumstances are more flexible than yours.

Its always tough giving something up as in these days you are unlikely to get it back, however I personally feel that a young family and a trek to the allotment is a really difficult struggle to manage, and if it also makes you feel guilty then you are on a hiding to nowhere.

Very slowly - but you get there. There's always some regret, but It's better to have Peace Love and Harmony, even if it takes a while to get to that stage
        Good Luck!

have a farewell dirnk to anything you've alrwady planted, and see the new one as chance to put right wrongs commited before, and re-design things that could have worked better....

Not wishing to get into personal details Wayne, but I read this as you were going to be sharing a new plot with someone else (partner), other than Ladywayne. You might have mean't Ladywayne, I don't know, sorry.

In which case my previous comments might look odd, my apologises if anything I have said caused some offense.
