    • Good day to you all, Merrie People of the Wood. I greet you as I greet the Sun, with muche happiness, for his warmth is again with us and will aid us in growing our crops for we needs must be prepared for the cold dark days of winter.
Lady Jules, we thanke ye for the salt, 'twill be of great benefit in the preserving of our meats and vegetables. Your adventures last e'en brought great gladness to my heart for 'tis always good to see the carefree antics of the young.
I thank ye all for your words of wisdom today, let us go forth and spread good cheer throughout the land

      • Good day to all the woodland throng. I too have been up with the dawn (blinking noisy, the birds round 'ere) and have exercised myself, watered the crops, and made a coffee and walnut cake.

This very weekende mine Lord and meself are entertaining travelling nobility whose only hovel is a coach pulled by many, many horses. These itinerent nobles cook and sleep in their wonderous coach while travelling round the land. They are to stay at our hovel for 2 days and 2 nightes.

As the merry men and woodland folke know to their cost, nobility are very demanding! I perchance will not be able to visit the wood for a few days - nor will I be able to share the delicious cake I hath made, as the visiting Lord hath demanded its production for his enjoyment....

Prithee all, enjoy thine carouse while the sun doth shine. See ya next week!
If the river hasn't reached the top of your step, DON'T PANIC!

        • Good day one and all! 'Tis joysome to be here again in the greenwood, though I see that Lady Marion has reached agreement with those in higher office that our medieval sojourn within her wood is soon to end. 'Tis shame we may no longer be Robin's merrie band of outlaws and villeins, but must transform ourselves as players do, by costume and speech, into some other woodland group.

No-one hath yet set forth what this group may be, perhaps thou, Lady Marian, wilt choose for us all.

          • You speak wisely, Falconer, and we shall transform ourselves when the appointed hour doth come.
I wish us all to give some thought to the matter and put forward suggestions on the Wood Group
http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ent-group.html where we can discuss our reincarnation. Also, if there be any others of our band who have not yet put their names to this Group I would wish them to do so, as we have a Merrie Group that should stay together. Fear ye not, I shall pursue you until your name be added!

            • OMG look out, look out, Maid Marion is about! So glad I put my name down already I'd be afeared to be chased by a vegiechook.

Tis a shame to miss the little spell in the sunny wood each day, has been all that kept my bits from freezing over in this chill wind - no matter which way you may wear your tights or your smock!

              • Gud'dye Midwife - art thou sober, I mean, well, today?
We need not miss the sun in the woode for long once we have a plan. Ye may needs to change your blood-stained smock for another guise but 'tis time it had a wash
Meanwhile, the sun doth continue to shine and refresh all parts, including those down-under . 'Tis time to hie me to the waterfall and stand beneath its cool, clear waters as there is already a heat in the air that may force us to seek out deeper shade later.
May the sun shine upon you also

On such a fine summers day as this the ale will surely flow freely (*I left the door unlocked on the ice house* ),methinks the 'Ostler & some friends with similar interests could put on for us lesser mortals a jousting competition (Chocky caaaake for the winner & carrot caaake for the winning oss),what say the fair maid

                      • Why Much, methinks that would be Joust the thing for today. A Tournament, lots of hot and sweaty men and horses for us genteel and not quite so genteel (naming no names) Ladies of the Wood to admire.
I shall prepare a favour for the Winner

                        • Jousting thy man? Jousting? In these temperatures!? I and my trusty steed will decline, if that be acceptable. Much ridden work was undertaken yesterday, and a rest is planned for this day. Perchance it be cooler tomorrow, then ask againe, and it may be considered.

Much tidying and preparations are planned for this day, with an interlude for mine master, who wishes to watch some noisy speed-related sport, from inside, during the hottest part of the day. It is the anniversary of his Birth on the morrow, and he will be working, so he's allowed a restful day today instead.

I trust I find thee well all after the imbibements and debauchery of last eve...?

                            • Forsooth and fourfeet, fair maid was ridin' t' spotty nag this eventide - tis a good thing his spotty @rse doth shine in t' moonlight so the midwife mother can keep an eye on their progress.....not such a good thing for hidin' from t' sheriff tho! Let's hope they are up for the jousting - fair maid and I will be fighting over the carrot cake - the spotty beast can have the chocolate for his spotty self.

Did someone mention tidying? Hush thy mouth. Speak not such evil in my hearing.

Birth? Someone needs to celebrate a birth? I'll be in that. Verily I shouldst celebrate each of the births I've aided in....seems only fair.

                              • Good morrow all. I see Much proposes a tourney, verily an excellent idea. if it be too hot for the nags as our good ostler declares, then mayhap we may compete in other diverse ways.

                                Perhaps archery?

Or some lesser form more suited to our band of merrie men and ladies?
