    • Well I am dissapointed to the turnout to the midday dance competition so Maid Lottie wins by default

You would think at least one of the maiden hobbits would have been there, they can walk under poles lower than .................

      • Why are you throwing water over the pretty maiden Beardy? That better not be white wine you are wasting!

        • Re Foxgloves - not wet blouse maidens!
Don't know yet - its a bit early to spot them. There are still unexplored bits and the water courses make it difficult to walk around in a straight line - so I keep getting lost!! Its so exciting

Depending on how dense the canopy is, you are probably only going to have them (foxgloves) at the margins or in glades. My "single growers" are about 6" high, "multiples" not as high but fair sized rosettes. What about Blue Bells? (I may be able to help) and I can deffinitely help if you need Meadow Sweet or Flags if you're intending to do a bit of careful management along water courses.

Has it been grazed by anything other than woodland creatures?

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

Hi M, I have seen a few foxgloves there and plenty of bluebells. The neighbouring wood has marsh marigolds and orchids (narrow leaved helleborine - I've been told, if I remember rightly). I'll probably ask the County Naturalist out to do an inspection and see what they find. Also I'll give it a year to assess what is there before I introduce anything. If you have any free time, come over and have a look.
No grazing that I know of! Its all tree cover.
