Mark plants that are not so affected by slugs and snails!

They have sections for acid lovers, drought lovers, bog lovers why not a section in the plant shops/books/magazines for plants that stand a chance with slugs and snails!

Thanks for this Taff. Makes me wonder why snails make a beeline to my Crocosmias. I could pick them off by the handful.

Last year I managed to remove a total of 38 slugs and snails in just one evening...from 5 tomato plants!

I detest the little (and not so little) blighters.

Last year we had a very cold winter, which mean't that a lot of snails and slugs were killed off. This year however a lot of us have had a very mild winter, we will have to be mindful that there will be a lot more slugs about.

Slugs love hostas, perhaps growing these beside the veg bed might distract the blighters??

I grow marigolds and nasturtiums as slug gifts, just so they'll leave my runner beans alone.

I went to move my potted on tomatoes lat night and there was a big slug on the side of one of the pots.
Cos it was dark i didnt see it and put my hand right on it.

Isn't slug snot difficult to get off your skin......

I have a similar problem in the old kitchen where the dogs sleep. If its been raining the slugs crawl in from somewhere and I frequently step on a slug in bare feet! I'm sure there must be a use for slug slime - it really is disgusting stuff.

Slug slime...there's something I know about...especially when the strimmer makes them explode. I've worn my fair share of slug slime.

Incidentally, they like cat food, so maybe placing cat food near at-risk plants could be a solution. I know this because my neighbour puts cat food outside so her 12 or so cats don't all run into the kitchen at the same time.
I've also seen birds fly down to eat cat food and the cats just lie there watching them.
A couple of weeks ago I saw two hedgehogs having a go at it too.
It seems like she's feeding half of the local animal population.

So anyway...plants....slugs...ain't that a bu66er!
