Have you ever met someone that just gets on your nerves, no matter how hard you try to be nice with them? I have an ex co-worker that really gets to me. He's friends with others I am still friends with and when he's mentioned, it annoys the ever living everything out of me!

Don't let him know he gets on your nerves, he may do it all the more........just ignore him. Like Mothhawk said, you are the only one who can control your emotions.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Yes - I know exactly what you are saying. I had a completely useless co-worker, I say worker but he never did owt. Which bearing in mind we were getting a multi million pound business off the ground, wasn't helping matters. In fact, at management meetings - I know this is completely childish - but I would exit the room as soon as he gave his 'update' as it contained precisely - nothing - and use this an an opportunity to use the facilities, grab a coffee, chat to the other staff and when I returned, he was still spouting precisely - nothing. I used to say 'did I miss much' and the other not so brave managers would roll their eyes and say 'nope'.
I didn't last much longer there - I had no faith in directors that employed the likes of him so I moved on.

Yes, I work with some people know who do, to be blunt f-all. I ran a business with someone who did bugger all too, twice in fact.
I'd like to run a business again, but I sure as hell won't be taking on a partner!
Extended members of the family really get on my breasts too, but erm don't want to say too much about that here

You all have my sympathy! I'm known for having a short fuse (yes, really! ), and I have learned, over the years, to just walk away. Not easy when you want to bury your fist in their face, I know.
I run into a particularly annoying person about three or four times a week, and there's not much I can do to avoid this, so I just walk out when they walk in. Luckily, this person is far too self-centred to notice. The things that annoy me the most, are the bigoted and racist comments. This person works in the 'care' industry, and should, frankly, be shot! (In my opinion )

Oh I have someone at work like that atm. I'm on leave TG or I'd be in one of those straight jackets with a padded room. I try to avoid my annoying person but they go out of their way to literally get 'in my face.' Every one at work knows that she is such an annoying person that all the managers give way to her because they can't be bothered with the carry on. I've tried avoiding, I've tried dealing with her, and I considered taking it to a higher level as it's interfering with both of us carrying out our work together. But I've decided that she is in fact doing me a great favour. It's probably time I moved on, but it was too comfortable where I was so I didn't. So now I'll be able to leave her with the job (which is what she wants - we job share) and go with a smile. Who could tell such an annoying female dog of a person could do me such a favour - thanks darl
I guess for you, you need to think about whether you want to ignore/avoid the problem and will it go away? Or do you need to deal with it? And if so, how? Good luck.Ali
