  • Is it lucky when a bird.......

I think its unlucky when a bird comes into your house?
So after evicting the blue tit, I do some weeding and manage to impale my hand on the prong of the garden fork (Nothing serious just a lot of blood).
My next question is, is it lucky when a bird dollops on you and it lands in your hair, and on your collar and down your back (it was a crow so think BIG dollop) as this has just happened .
Is this good luck or bad, as I need to do more weeding?

I thought it was pidgeon poop that was lucky not just bird poop

Not lucky. I think it must be the weather. I nearly impaled myself on a fork trying to get a bag of compost out of my boot. At least it was one dollop and not trapped somewhere like a greenhouse or a kitchen where the poop goes ...everywhere.

OK bird in the house is considered a symbol of bad luck, but then you got pooped on as did I two days ago. These cancel each other out IMHO. Or you could do as I have done and buy yourself a lotto ticket
Fingers crossed for both of us hey?

Bird poop - must be unlucky! I've just put my hand in wet creosote, then managed to get it on the other hand too so couldn't open the cupboard door to reach the sticky stuff remover! Had to scrape it off with a dinner fork handle and a pot scourer. Now hands that do dishes...........
Edit - just noticed that I have creosote (from the sleepers) on the clean Tshirt I put on after the crow pooped on the other one a few hours ago
My Mother always says I'm a mucky pup!!
2nd update - Creosote on my jeans too

Nah, it would be unlucky if you were looking up at the sky when it pooped on you.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

The elephant is a funny bird, it flits from bough to bough
It makes it's nest in a rhubarb tree and whistles like a cow.

My late mum used to say a bird in the house is really unlucky, but she was from Lancashire. My late dad was from Yorkshire and said sh"* for luck, so as you're in Wales, I haven't a clue!
A bird once managed the drop through the sun roof of the car whilst Himself was driving. Our children in the back seats thought it was hilarious.

                      For some ridiculous reason the Ernie the Milkman song has jumped into my mind.;
Something about a stale pork pie, caught him in the eye, and Ernie bit the dust

If I got a bird in my place, I'd consider it pretty damn lucky...............
