The only reason a bird in the house is 'unlucky' is the amount of mess they usually make before you can get them out again (and of course, it does carry a slight health-risk).
I don't 'do' omens!
PS, once you believe that something 'unlucky' has happened to you, that leads to 'bad luck', because you make mistakes while worrying about it!Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
