The job - they're putting me in the student accommodation, so the travel is fine.

    It's a 4 week internship.

I'm just so worried about how I'll cope physically. I'm incredibly unfit, have a bad back and don't eat much during the day due to a digestion problem. I just don't know how I'll cope.

If they ask me to start wheeling heavy wheel barrows or constant bending and lifting I don't think I could cope.

Has it been explained what the internship involves OM? Do they know about your health issues and can they be worked around? Have you got time before you start to try and build yourself up. I think the only things I could suggest is to pace yourself and make sure you rest in the evenings and take any medical advice. And good luck.

I know which areas I'm in - propagation and fruit.

They havent mentioned or asked about health issues. I think I'll email them this afternoon and seek reassurance.

As for the type of work - it just says 'general gardening'.

I'll pace myself and be honest - if I'm asked to do something I feel unable to do I'll just tell them.

But I hope they don't mind....

I have decided motto email them about my condition.

I assume that on arrival they will give me an induction of some sort where I can disclose anything I feel relevant.

When I applied there was no questions based on health or disabilities. I was simply offered the place on the strength of the following info: course, personal details and interests.

So, as far as they know I could have a disability. I presume that as they can't discriminate against someone with a disability they can't do so against someone with a medical condition.

I'll be honest, though. I'm sure I can do 90% of what's asked of me. And, I am a volunteer!
