I'm putting this here because I don't know where else to put it. I recently started two threads, one to do with greenhouses and the other to do with allotments. Both of them have been "moved" and I don't understand why.

The thread about the freecycle greenhouse has been moved to General Chit Chat and I can't find where the one about the allotment has gone. I had follow ups to these that were closer to the point than the original posts. I was trying not to be too verbose. I had gardening points to make and I am really miffed that my posts have been sidelined to "General Chitchat" when I have gardening questions and gardening points to make.

I am not new to allotmenteering and I don't think I said anything to lead anyone to think I was. I am just having difficulties with the current one. I think it is entirely on topic and nothing whatsoever to do with chit chat which can be about anything. I proposed to post photos of my plot when I find out where it is and a diary of events. This doesn't belong in chit chat. Other people experience what I'm going through to find there plots and won't find the information in another thread.

Greenhouse: Ok I take your point re freecycle but the rest was about someone opening and shutting the doors at the wrong times of the day. I was trying to lightheartedly ask for help in preserving my plants and for advice. There is a right of way along the back of my house for the rest of the terrace. Someone thinks it's it is funny to close the conservatory door when its hot and open it when it's cold. Someone may know of a way for me to replace the catch on my conservatory that I haven't found yet.

If I continue to have my legitimate postings sidelined to mere chit chat, I will sign off on a permanent basis. I think I have a lot to offer, but am being treated as a newby to gardening (and the net, which has been my job for many, many years).

With due respect Janie there are an awful lot of posts to read and calls to make whether or not posts require moving. In the vast majority of cases the calls are right and there is no arguement, occasionally the calls are right and the person takes umbrage, very very occasionally we get it wrong. When we do, its nothing personal, we are unpaid human beings and a simple pm from the person involved usually sorts it out. The moderating here is done with a very light hand and we interfere as little as possible in an attempt to keep the forum understandable, easy to follow and meaningful.

In this instance Lesley was spot on and I would have moved it in the same way. With all due respect we have been forum members for a long time and have a very good idea how it ticks and what gets the best response to members posts.

You say yourself that you have a lot to offer the forum, please post away as ideas and information from experienced gardeners is always welcome.
