You were safe today, Nick - I was early for a meeting in Bournemouth and so took a walk along the cliff top gardens.

Lovely Hazel. Glad to share the walk with you.

It's a real novelty to see the sea for me - we're nearly as 'landlocked' as you can be here!

This picture wasn't taken by me, but it's from the place I was born and brought up, (Fulwell/Roker in Sunderland) and I miss it horribly sometimes... There is absolutely no better smell in the world than salt in the air...
Boo hoo... I wanna go home....

Thought I'd dredge this old thread up, as a suitable place to post some pics I took this morning, about half a mile from my house. Thankfully, I'm slightly uphill from here....

This water is usually only ankle deep in most places, and at least 6 foot (up to 10 foot) below the top of the wall...
The people who live in those houses you can see have been flooded before, and most of them didn't even have their sand-bags out when I took these pics

Went ot for a walk on New Years Day, and took a couple of piccies of the views.

These are of the view from Sharpenhoe Clappers looking out over the village of Sharpenhoe. our village is off in the distance towards the upper left of the photos - about a mile and a half away.

The dude in the photo is my brother-in-law.

I haven't worked out how to post photos yet as mine are all too large so if anyone is interested in this area go to saintgery.com where the village has its own website - you can see my house on the old photos section and note that at the end of the 19th century my land had trees/ bushes on it but had been cleared by 1911. now has trees again!!!!
