I remember when the first of mine turned 18, I felt old. Now the eldest of my offspring is 42 so I am really really old. Funny isn't it, when how old you feel depends on the age of your children and not your own age.
No kids here, either. I find that I usually get on with any age group. Quite often, I look at friends' boring, stuck-in-their-ways, middle-aged parents, then remember I'm their age.
Age is a state of mind...

My daughter is 40 at the end of the month and that makes me old (ish), but I really don't feel old and I'm sure you don't either RL. The granddchildren keep us youthful. Middle Golden Girl wrote in my birthday card "You get younger every day Nanny". Must be something to do with the purple nail varnish, Waterloo Road, Twilight and text speake!
I find it very strange having a child who is taller than me (to be fair, that's not very big!). Then again, a couple of years ago I was seeing a chap only a couple of years older than me who was a 3 times grandparent!
I think I just keep getting younger though. I'm so much happier and more confident than when I was a young woman. If anyone thinks that at 44 I look silly with pink hair, shoes with cats on, 50s frocks and too much make up... I don't care!
