What about keeping chooks, Steve? You can always have a laugh with a chook in your garden!

I lost one of my wedges playing Celtic Manor a couple of months ago, darned buggies. They won't allow them on the course so you end up either trying to follow the footpaths with your shots, or walking 50/60 metres with more than one club cos you don't know the lie. I had a wedge and my putter by the side of the green and forgot my wedge when I came off, they didn't find it.

I bought a cheapy mizuna wedge to replace it, but its not the same as my John letters.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I'd probably make a better shot of it with some japanese veg.

Yep buggies are a real pain & they seem to slow the game down I also got a Wilson Gap wedge in the pile to go (fit in between pitching & sand) & even the rarest of gents woods ...... the 15 (keeping that for the odd pitch & put round) great for scaring the opposition taking a full swing with a wood on a short par 3

EDIT: think that should be Mizuno

I was gonna say baking but VeggieChicken already said - I just find it relaxing compared to paperwork-type-work - like gardening it seems to 'ground' you ( no pun intended) and remind you who you are - making bread esp good

Join your local hillwalking/rambling group for fresh air and exercise and meeting people. (Plenty of groups round Cardiff).
                  Birdwatching (the feathered kind)
Spinning and weaving - spinning is amazingly relaxing once you've got the hang of it and we have a few male spinners and weavers in our local Guild. One man makes spinning wheels and is our guild's diy man when stuff breaks down.
Stained glass work - you needn't be arty crafty, you can copy designs from books or photos.
