  • I Cannot Get Over......

.......just what a fabulous place, full of the most utterly wonderful people, this forum is!

Over the years I've joined many forums for all sorts of topics. I was saddened by the nastiness and spite I found on all of them. But not here. I have never seen such an harmonious bunch of people as I have here. Sometimes, you get a lump in your throat, you know......

Tis nice in here tho Jules. A bit of fun, support, and lots of growing ideas, and even some killing ones for the weeds. But not the nastiness, nor the cliquiness that some places get - the people who have been on the forums for a long while often ignoring any new people's questions.

So I keep soming back even tho you're all making me jealous with your growing while I'm stuck here with the freezing and the frosts.

It's a very well moderated forum, I wish they were all like it. I only use one other now (for sewing, not sowing) because, as you say, most other forums are plagued by the spiteful & nasty in society

I've only ever used internal forums for work before, so I didn't realise it wasn't as lovely, friendly, and nutty as this everywhere else!

Perhaps its because we all share love.... love of growing and nature.

Yes, its a great forum that ticks lots of boxes.. We all do things differently and I for one read what others are doing to tackle a problem and work out what seems best for me.

I only use one other forum, for BH's diabetes. It's a great forum, great life-saving info and it's got us through some very tough times since the BH's diagnosis, but sometimes there are posters who just want to argue for the sake of it - even if they know nothing about the subject, so helpful threads get closed and/or removed. I don't understand folk like that.

I have used quite a few forums over time and have to agree...
Many have moderators that are on some sort of power trip for some reason or other and are moderated to death....
Also as Feral says, the fact that the long serving members take time to answer all questions etc is great....
                    Long live the vine....

Yes!! I wonder why I lurked for the first 5 years since joining? To be honest, I didn't even lurk. I didn't look - forgot I'd even joined! There, I've confessed - that's another thing off me chest!!

Kind but deserved. I wore the jacket for a short period of time so know how much work there is - despite the general membership being a brilliant bunch or, erm, grapes.

I've been here a while now - on and off, and I've not made as many friends in one place probably since high-school.

If you're looking for friendship, support, banter, fun, frivolity and all round good eggs - you can stop looking now. It's all here.

A quick thanks to the magazine and tech heads too.
