poor poor lettuce - and VVG. am so sorry you're having to go through this. best advice is patchninja's: Just bear in mind - NEVER get your knickers in a twist until you KNOW that you have a good reason to. I know that's easier said than done, but you have to try and be zen.
and it's TRUE. most of all, DO NOT RESEARCH ON THE NET! SERIOUSLY. it drives you mad, and is full of worst case scenarios. which yours is statistically unlikely to be. it's so hard psychologically, all this, but holding on to your horses and not panicking about future vague possibilities really is the only way.
believe me, I know. as Patch said, email if you want further details. And NB that those of us who do have futher details HAVE SURVIVED!
love and sympathy and foolish distractions xxBR

I am afraid I am no good at offering any pearls of wisdom, but I did want to say that I hope all will be ok for you & to send a virtual hug for the awful waiting time you are going through.

I will just say that I agree with BroadRipple that researching on the internet can drive you nuts, having done that a few times myself.

I don't really know what to say but, here's hoping everything is hunky dorey for you both.

There's nothing wrong with searching the internet, its an invaluable tool, you just have to be careful with your search criteria. Before I had surgery on my knee (and I know its not the same!) I found the web very useful in understanding what was to come.

There are lots of good websites out there offering advise support and experience, this particular one is very good at the TLC.

I totally see your point Mikey, just it is easy to drive yourself nuts (or scare yourself) by reading certain things, I did that while waiting for some test results and then I found it just played on my mind. But everyone is different and as you say there is also lots of invaluable info and support out there.

See, I said I was no good with the pearls of wisdom!

exactly - but really, don't look until you have any reason to, i.e. if you need to know what a procedure will involve, or if there are terms you're confused by. the WORST thing is to start googling indiscriminately and next thing you know you're looking at the worst possible case scenario, in forums for people who've been spectacularly unlucky, or are panicking, or haven't a clue what they're talking about. it really is best avoided - and then, if you need specific info, be very focused.
Good good luck to you both

Been there and got the T shirt and I am still here after 14 years. Try to keep positive both of you and try not to worry until there is really something to worry about. I know easier said than done.

Thinking of you both and the best of luck whatever the outcome.

Sympathy hugs from me too ........Went through it last October. Worst two weeks of my life waiting to find out and I think the OH was even more scared than me . Wasn't cancerous as I'm sure yours isn't but popped in for day surgery to have it removed anyway .
My mate was going through treatment as well at the time and we joked about sharing head scarves. I kept away from t'internet about it aswell.
My friends approach is just to say what happens happens and I'll deal with it when it does.
Positive vibes being sent to you........xxx

I agree with not researching on the internet. I thought my Pressure Sensor had gone on the washing machine last week - as that's what E36 is...turns out a pipe had come loose. Hence a flooded kitchen floor.

Most lumps are cysts, so keep calm and carry on. Panicking will make no difference, what makes the difference is getting to the docs and getting a diagnosis fast.

Well, as fast as you can make these people go - can't believe she said that Jules - how ignorant of her.

I have felt so much better today after all your lovely comments and actually feel quite calm inside now. Definitly not panicking mr mannering! I am not going near t'internet as I know exactly what the procedure involves and don't need any thing else scaring me!
So, we'll keep calm and carry on and if anythings found it will have been found early and be sorted.
What wonderful support you all are, got me feet up , glass of wine and we'll be ok

I'm not very good at tea and sympathy: I'm more of a "arm yourself with the facts and get on with it" kind of gal.

I had cancer (not breast though) at 25. I dealt with it ... you have to. You enter a process which is largely out of your control. I'm still here, 17 years later. It wasn't easy, it still isn't, but as my docs said: what's the alternative?

I have to disagree. I was misdiagnosed 3 times before I finally got someone who knew what they were looking at. If I didn't do internet research, I might not be here now, bugging all of you
