Forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious, but as a someone with ongoing back problems, please, please consider letting folks down in the short term by staying at home tomorrow rather than risking months and years of pain in the future.
Drivers who are impatient with learner drivers.
You were a learner once or did you get your license out of a cornflake packet.
Moron!
Fair point, but equally learners (especially in the early stages of learning) really ought to know better than to have their lessons at rush hour - stuck in traffic for over an hour because a learner stalled on a major roundabout then panicked and flooded the engine. Very late home resulting in being late to meet friends at a restaurant, makes me feel very bad mannered.
(That said, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most patient of people when it comes to learner drivers - probably a result of finding it very easy to learn and pass my test)

Then how do they learn to drive on busy roads?
My rant - people who drive into the back of you when you're stationary on a roundabout and then insurers that are more interested in asking you about whiplash (they were very upset when I told them my neck was fine) than sorting your car.....
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

I'm sure you noticed that I qualified my statement with 'especially in the early stages of learning'. Anyone can stall, experience of dealing with it teaches you not to panic (if you were inclined to panic at all) - so get that experience in a quieter environment first then move to busier roads/times when you have more confidence. What will that learner have gained from their experience? I honestly can't see any positives from a situation that left her in floods of tears (something that was very obvious when I eventually managed to get past her).

That is not really a sign of bad driving, more a sign of a rubbish instructor who has failed to assess the learners level of competance,l also found passing the car test easy (first time with no formal lessons),learn a little tolerance for those not as naturally talented as ourselves.

Cold calling scumbags.
My dad who is not the brightest, had a cold call on phone and asked him about his bad back. He thought it was from the hospital or doctors. He didn't ask who it was.
They asked if they could come and see him at home, he said yes.
They turned up today to sell him a mattress for the bed. They really gave him the hard sell.
People who think that because you work at a desk, you don’t actually do anything and are therefore free to: book holidays; phone the tax office; get insurance quotes; make vet’s appointment; etc etc. Stuff they can perfectly well do themselves since they’re home 2 hours earlier but just can’t be a****d. I may not be working down’t pit (neither is he come to that) but I have a busy and demanding job that requires a lot of attention so neither do I want to take stupid phone calls telling me the dog’s raided the bin or to discuss the price of beans in Makro (yes, really) FFS !!!!!!
Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!
One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French
