Nothing seems to be growing in the garden properly, the weather has been utterly pants and my first attempt growing my own (anything really!!) is starting very slowly indeed. Almost makes you want to give up.......

My tomatoes were moving along at a rate of knots, then we had the rain and now everything is on a go slow, I wouldn't worry about it, being late isn't such a bad thing this year, it'll come.

Sometimes being too keen and starting early only means you lose things to the late frosts.

Not so fast, beetroot doesn't like my ground, too heavy.....I love the stuff, but fail miserably to grow it. Brassicas though well that's a different story.

I bumped into one of the gardening club in the local supermarket. She was with her mum - and introduced me as her 'gardening teacher' - the enthusiasm of 8 and 9 year olds is infectious!

Well, fortunately this is a primary school so I don't need to worry about the teenagers Some of high school students will call in for younger siblings - I bet they will take a peek at the plot in years to come if it is still going!

Yeah. My girls took a peek at my lottie one summer and promptly lay on a rug to sunbathe, or flitted around taking photos of wildlife and flowers. Still better than not going there at all and now they are in their 20's they do ask how it's doing.

My boss gave me a cucumber plant 3 weeks ago was growing nice, now munched.

things do look a little more promising at the lottie than a week ago,i recone things are going to grow like mad on a later summer

I'm going in a bit to visit my beans ... fingers crossed that are still in one piece but I am not holding out much hope.
