Any brick collectors out there?

Whilst digging up a rockery in my garden I have uncovered a few bricks. Most of them are going to be crunched up for hardcore.

I noticed a name on one or two so looked it up. 'Halsall Bury'
There are people who apparently collect bricks. I spose it's not the strangest things to collect though.

In my last house we had a covenant on the property that prohibited us from making and selling bricks. A bit odd in today's world, but the cottage was once owned by the brickworks from the area.

I did however find hand thrown bricks throughout the house, all the walls, they made some lovely feature planters in the back garden, but we moved before I truly got the chance to enjoy it.

Can't help you alldigging, is it worth finding out about them locally and integrating them into a feature in the garden.

I collect locally made bricks (local my area) and use them in the garden. I'd hang on to them alldigging and use them as Mikey suggests ^^^^^^^. They're part of your house history so don't let them be crunched!

Clean it up, turn it on edge and slot it is a wall, seat, planter somewhere.

I might keep one or two of the perfect ones. They are kindof cute but I don't want to give people the wrong idea and start being bought bricks as a present.

Need to date them anyway to see if they tie in with the history of the street or are just infill junk as I suspect.

There are a few photos of Halsall bricks here England 10 - H but nothing on the history of the brickworks.

We've uncovered a whole brick road. We are pulling them up and relaying neatly. Part of your history, so make them into a garden feature.

Friend of mine has just built a pond surround with various bricks made locally and there names displayed along the top edge.
