  • Splinter Protection....?

I was wondering if anyone had some advice on a thorny little issue we have.

I've a wooden trellis fence in the garden which our 2yr old has a tendency to run her hands up and down - she doesn't seem to mind all the splinters she gets but neither of us enjoy trying to get them out

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the fence "splinter free" - without changing the fence - I was wondering about some kind of tape but would rather have something a little more natural.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Derek

      Hi
Yup- sanding really. Rough timber and lap (like the stuff in fencing panels) does not stay smooth by its very nature.
In time you could grow a climber over the worst bits creating a barrier or maybe you could attach some woven matting onto the contact points.
