The only country you don't need a passport for is the Republic of Ireland as they are in the Common Travel Area, along with the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. However you might still need to show ID and this probably also applies to flights within the UK. In this case a photo driving licence should be OK although I believe Ryanair might insist on a passport. Also, I think the exemption on passports within the Common Travel Area only applies to British and Irish citizens but you might need ID to prove you don't need ID!

In theory you only need approved photo ID on internal UK flights but some airlines can be iffy about what they accept. Funnily enough I used to fly from Manchester to Gatwich quite a lot with work and BA never used to check your ID at all if you checked in online, always took my passport anyway but they never asked for it and it didn't feel quite right.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
