He wasn't so good at telling me what MP stood for though!
Probably not old enought to know VC,MP (generally taken as Music Player) is actually a contraction of MPEG (Motion Picture Experts Group),these being the standards used in the code for converting film & sound to play on computers. The code being set out in "layers" so MP (as above) & 3 being the third audio layer.
Might have to change my sig too ... Old Gits Know Stuff Or ....... read all the thread before posting
Thanks BB, even I know that now because of BM's ever so helpful link!
And I've sat in my car and found things I never knew existed before - like 2 x AUX input thingys and the cigarette lighter that is really a socket. Such excitement
If your car has bluetooth it makes it simples. It just means you can connect your stereo up with your mobile device via the waves rather than being hard wired.
My hands free kit is connected to my stereo and the blue tooth element connects my phone with the hands free and stereo, so that I can take and make calls by talking to my stereo.
The systems are still a bit clunky, but give it a few years and they will be very good, my last van had built in sat nav which was useful, and I'd only switch it on when I needed it. Just like Pa snips I hate being told how to find my way out of my drive, pfft that's easy it should try reversing into it for me.
How (or why) did I get involved in this thread I'm the person who hasn't made or received a mobile phone call this year. Suddenly, I feel the need to have it on in my car - but hardly anyone knows my number
Why am I here

I think thats half the problem these days LD, whereas you used to have experienced individuals to guide you through the pitfalls, shop assistants, bankers!!, etc. These days its all buyer beware, no knowledge on anything except that which generates a bonus.
I for one miss the simpler life, but I wouldn't half miss being able to pop in here.

I always thought it was media player. Can't use them on my car anyway and the personal one I had as a pressie about 5 years ago still has the same music on it that I copied onto it when I first got it and it's been buried in my undies drawer for 18 or so months since I last used it. Have a radio, 6 CD changer and if I'm desperate a tape player so am sorted.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
