I think you''re right Alison, as soon as I get my energy back and I can stomach something more than a cup of tea I'll take myself off to the allotment.

Well at least it's not raining at the moment - I wanted to go to mine on Friday but would have needed a wetsuit

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

yes it was grim on Friday wasn't it - we had an influx of hedgehogs on Friday , I think some of them are getting washed out of their nests with all the rain poor things .

Standardisation has it's place - when you're doing a quality control analysis then repeatability and reproducibility are essential, this is only achieved by the same method being used every time (down to the last detail).

Micro-management under the guise of standardisation is a pain in the butt, turning your staff into mindless automatons only ever results in a drop in overall standards - things are missed because staff are no longer invested in their jobs.

Official format for final documents and a thorough QC process is all that's needed normally (in my opinion).
