Spent brewers yeast?

Any gardening uses for it?

Was thinking of creating some slug traps with it...

Have read it can be used direct as a soil conditioner - but only few references to that.

I live near several breweries, how would you go about getting this? I'm intrigued...

Best use for brewer's yeast is as a supplement for anything with kidney or liver problems, IBS or Sweet Itch (horses). I feed it to my sweet itch mare, as yeast extract contains things which prevent pathogenic bacteria from binding to the intestinal wall (epithelium) and also lower the inflammatory chemicals in the gut (cytokines). It's also high in B vitamins, hence being good for kidney, liver and intestinal diseases.

So, I would either eat it myself, or feed it to the furries!!

I've been offered it cos I collect their hops at the moment.
I think they're looking for a regular pickup of 40l which unless I can do something amazing with it I'm not going to be able to use enough of it to make picking it up worthwhile.

I guess if you want some then find a microbrewery and ask!

Start a pizza place. I use the dregs from the brewbucket for pizzas and savoury breads and brioche. In fact anything that benefits from a slightly beery hint. That's most things then.

OK, so I only get about 250ml but it stores for about a week in the fridge...

Wow, I never even thought to ask a micro-brewery! I buy it dried online! There's even a microbrewery literally in spitting distance from my field (backs onto it).

I got lots of info from Arpoet, he's quite an expert on spent hops, bet he'd know what you could use the yeast for. Both ok if you like the smell I would imagine. I don't.

I have the spent hops (A farmer has the malt apparently and the hops usually but they're out of sync cos of the weather...)
And have been offered the spent yeast!.
