  • Just one little!!!

We all enjoy gardening, we all enjoy geting in amongst it (mostly)

However, what is the one sundry item (and by sundry I mean something small that is not really a tool) that you would not be without in your shed, tunnel or greenhouse and why?

For me it has to be the humble cable tie or tie wrap, used by electricans and bodging gardeners all over the world. I use then for securing bean canes to my frame, for fastening things very tightly together, or not so tight if wished, for attatching plant labels, well the list is endless.

    So, whats yours?

Like PW cable ties. I have used to train blackberrys along chain link fence at the rear of my lottie, and put up my bean fence with them. Must remember to buy some more!!

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

My little red dibber. Would'nt be without it although I am always mislaying it.

                      Some plastic cups!

I saved some from the water cooler at work (and people save them for me!)

                      I use them:
In place of a trowel for potting things
                      For small amounts of watering
As pots when I have run out of plant pots/seed trays

Mine is a very old kitchen knife, has a good handle and now a very small blade I use to weed between my patio stones, open bag of compost, cut daisy's out of the lawn and if I tried a little harder at gardening I would proberly find more uses.

This was inherited from my mum.

My *Stick*. It's a piece of twig I sharpened. Can be used to stab slugs/snails prick out seedlings, dig out the little weeds, make drills, stir my homebrew feed mixture. Endless uses and it was free...(My Fave Word)
