Yes, Saoirse Ronan plays Susie Salmon. And quite wonderfully.
Plenty of clips on YouTube. Actually I've just seen the full film posted there!

Another one I love is 'What Dreams May Come'. Starring the late Robin Williams.
Best known as a comedian Williams shows his actng class and versatility in his magnificent handling of this role.
In this deeply poignant clip, under the circumstances, the lead character (played by Williams) has 'died' and finds himself very much alive on the Other Side in his own personal patch of Heaven. Alone at first, then Katie turns up, not 'dead' either!
      Heart-warming stuff.

Hmmm I think oh no sound a bit nerdy here

        Star Trek, the old ones
The Lords of The Rings, all of them
        The Hobbit
        Snatch
        The Goonies
        Indiana Jones
Wallace and Gromit, all of them
        Gone in 60 Seconds
        Men in Black
        Seabiscuit

        Think that's about it

I like action films with a bit of a twist, like Source Code, Inception and 12 Monkeys.

But my favourite all time film has got to be Withnail and I. Have watched it so many times and it still makes me laugh, just a brilliant script. I'd love to go and look at the cottage one day.

My favourite film is the shawshank redemption. Plus any James Bond films pre 2004, you can't beat a handsome hero, fast cars, and lots of explosions!!

Ah but this is one benefit of the onset of senile dementia, I have forgoten the ending every time.

I like both books and films. In books I like Crime and Thrillers but I generally prefer something that doesn't need too much concentration if I'm watching a film as I'm usually doing something else at the same time.

                  Some favourites are:

                  Turner & Hooch
                  Ghost (love the music)
                  Absolute Power
                  Conspiracy Theory
Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind
                  National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
                  Lethal Weapon (all)
                  Entrapment
                  The Thomas Crown Affair

and any old English film from the 50s and 60s as I like to be reminded how used to live (fashions and attitudes etc)

I think I'd have to say - Captain Corelli's Mandolin, even though it's not true to the book, and Troy. The scenery maybe?
All the film versions of Jane Austen's novels - specially Persuasion (Rupert Penry-Jones in Regency clothes, swoon )
Coyote Ugly- don't really know why...
Ghost, and Dirty Dancing - Patrick Swayze.
Truly, Madly, Deeply - just so sad.
                      Top Gun.
                      Bridget Jones's Diary etc

Except maybe the first two they're all the typical chick flicks lol

with all the films mentioned in this thread how many film buffs think that censorship should be reintroduced, being of an age that can remember the battles that Mary Whitehouse had to keep films and TV. suitable for the family, I am now thinking the Lady was right when you look at the films and games that young people can view nowadays. Also having looked at names of most of the films I think the majority would have past any censorship.
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Love that film. It's such a shame that all the sequels were so awful.
