I hate shaving...

After the shower too, although not always. I find it a choir - so I'm hoping to enjoy the experience.. I've even gone to the geeky trouble of reading shaving forums.... yes there's forums dedicated to shaving

Looking forward to it coming, I remember my old man shaving with a brush, soap dish and old style razor. I'm going to lump it eitherway, as it's cost a lot so I'm going to use it! I don't often part with money like this, so I'm classing it as a late fathers day pressie!

I bought my father a new brush for christmas, got from a shop in carmarthen, made with badgers hair, which is the best apparantly. He uses a fusion blade, but the same soap and brush since he started shaving.

Why is it when you get a new tube of shaving foam/gel it always shoots far more out than you need, meaning you waste a lot....

Gave up on shaving a long time ago... clippers and 'designer' stubble is the only way for me... i look at a wet razor and come out in a rash. Although I've often wondered if a cutthroat razor would be any better.

regarding nasal hair - I once saw an old fella at airport security having to explain to a rather attractive security lady that the device in his jacket pocket was a nasal hair clipper... poor bugger.

Yup, I switched to king of shaves gel with the oil underneath, that's great - if you let the oil soak in your beard, it really does soften it up - and with a brand new razor it's great. The added bonus is, if you have a goatee or what not the gel is transparent so you can guide the blade around your facial hair. Mind you, I still end up with odd sideburns when I'm in a rush heh.

I just bought 100 razor blades for £9 i think, which is a lot cheaper than dropping £20 on 4 or so fusion blades (it's the fusion ones that go blunt now, I remember!)

Doesn't anyone use the old fashion electric razor these days or is it me living in the past?......

I've tried electric, but it felt like it was tugging - not sure if the blades weren't sharp or what not. I also never could get a close shave with it.

I ended up choose a Merkur Futur with Feather blades, Kent brush and crabtree & evelyn (or whatever they're called) soap set. Quite looking forward to it now

...I shave straight after a shower so that my pores are still open, making shaving easier. I do like a sensitive gel.

Are you speaking with a posh accent there, Mikey? Our Latin mistress at my all girls school used to call us "gels", as in "Do sit up straight, gels".

I saw this thread earlier in the day and thought I must remember to shave. Going to Qld for a seminar this w/e - the temp up there is 20C during the day and 10C at night (here is -6C at night and maybe up to 9C during the day) so I thought I should probably break out a couple of skirts and 3/4 pants - but I have to get rid of my 'winter coat' as a friend calls it - no shaving of the legs in winter since no one sees my legs cept me and it's like cheap thermals
And then I put some bronzing lotion on since I didn't want to scare those poor queenslanders - they won't know what the colour white is until they see my legs!

A tip I was told for shaving legs is to use hair conditioner on wet legs and the blade slides over the skin better, less chance of taking skin off. Not sure if it works for faces but it's good with legs.

So.............anyone shave their pitties today?

I work with a chap who shaves his pits! Says he doesn't smell as muh when he sweats. Only downside is sweat patches..
