We camped at Mevagissey a few years ago: we walked from the campsite to the beach, and found a nice little beachy harbour area at Gorran Haven

It was really muddy and slippery and Mr TS had only packed his fashion sandals. If you don't want to go head over arris too, wear hiking boots on the cliffs

Good food to be had here or for takeaway, here

My daughter lives near Porthleven. Heavenly, and some great places to eat. The Ship Inn is fun - right on the end of the harbour. Kota and it's cheaper sister restaurant are great.

Pack a good hamper (Eat .... Pasties,Drink .. Scrumpy) & the puppy, then drive along to Pisky Cove (just off the main Penzance-Helston road),for a nice quite beach picnic (it's a lot less populated than the better known places )
