P2P Lending/Borrowing

Do any of you do it? Curious, only just caught up with this 'Bank on Dave' TV Series, which I thought would go down the p2p route after his license to accept deposit was rejected - which it obviously has done.

I've been looking into p2p lending for some time (bypass the corporate rats, inject money faster into the economy, etc). Just wondering if anyone here does it ?

I've seen the first Bank of Dave programme and missed the second - hope to catch up on 4OD.

I haven't come across the phrase P2P before - I assume it means Person to Person?

P2P = peer to peer. Taken from the internet as in peer to peer filesharing ie no middle man.

MFT - as Mark says it's based on a distributed "peer" model.. I've had my eye on ratesetter (who seem to offer a better all round package as opposed to zopa) for a few years now, thinking I'm going to take the plunge and stick in some money as a lender.

I quite fancy the bank on dave one too, not merely for the interest, but more so as it's more local (UK wide) lending/borrowing. I also quite like the idea of the local currencies that are popping up. Thinking of getting involved in the Cardiff one - I think it originated from the Bristol/Bath (can't remember which city it was) one?

Hi Chris - have you done a search at Companies House on any of the cos you are interested in. Very short of time this a.m. Companies House seems to have changed beyond all recognition so need time to do searches.
