,if it's not 1 thing this year,it's another,i have had the odd insect bit and a zap of cream sorts it, tuesday night at the lottie i came home realy iratable all over, straight in the shower, change of clothes, next day out the bites came, back, ankles, body, legs, and 1 on the bum, plus 2 suspect on face lol, have had creams, icecubes, and antihistamine pills, one leg is worse than the other with aprox 13 on,3 are really angry, son said they look nasty, even mr LD,unusually has some on his back as well, got to go shopping in a bit,so will ask at chemist for a natural defence to put on,if such a thing,
i did have a short sleaved top,and 3/4 fitting pants on,very peculiar,as most of the bits were done under the clothing,
How many others have noticed an explosion of skin attacks this last week,at least the slugs did not attack us personally, lets hear your stories

between myself and the other half we have had about 15 bites in the last couple of days luckily the kids had none. lemons are starting to come in useful kids are smelling nice lol
I got some weird bites/stings yesterday up the lotty.
A big one on the back of my knee, it's about 4" wide, hot and very firm to the touch. Fairly itchy, but not desperately.
The blisters on my hand are a mystery: anyone have any ideas what it is? It's not a sting or a bite, doesn't itch or anything (I can't feel them at all) but I've had some kind of reaction to something
my local chemist says a lot of peeps are being bitten this year,i was recomended jungle fumula,it honks but if it works then good, will put it to the test tonight,MUST go lottie,TS 4in accross is extra big, have the chemist look at it,ti's in a bad place to,thats going to drive you mad,i found out the most effective releife was from an ice cube or anything very cold out the freezer, even and old small baisin, just roll it over the red area, not leave it on like an ice pack, did more than the creams, chemist also said to take antihistamine tabs, also ask about blisters,am not a google queen, but seems like some insects and spiders do blister, some a little lump first then blister, hope you get it sorted,

Were you weeding, TS? The sap of quite a few weeds can cause blisters in strong sunlight - (photodermatitis), as can some veg, including parsnip and carrot

I'm being bitten like crazy too at the moment Especially when walking the dog because we go through woodland alongside a stream, so the midges are there in big clouds. Horrid little bujjers My worst bites are next to the waistband on my trousers, so they get rubbed by the fabric, which makes them itch like billy-oh. I'm putting Hc45 on them, which helps.
We are all suffering to. I am dousing us all in 4711 cologne body spray from Boots. Has citronella in it. Working a treat so far. Spraying window frames with it too, puts them off entering the home.

I did think of that, but it's never happened before ... I was ripping up comfrey with my bare hands, it could well have been that, it is known to irritate some people
from your link:
The plants of the carrot family have sap that is absorbed by the skin. The sap traps sunlight then re-emits the sunlight at a wavelength that causes severe burns
just got back from a weekend near the great fen - absolutely covered got approx 15!!!! swelling and very painful - my legs do not look very pretty i can tell you! The buggers even got one on my face....
apart from that have had a fabulous weekend
thats what a few of mine did petal, and felt like it,still itch a bit,the best thing overall i found that helped, was something cold on them, even a cold baisin was good, but gently roll it over, not leave on like an ice pack,or ice cube, but do it outside, you get drips lol,
