I can remember mine (first post that is..); I'd been lurking for quite a while (not as long as VC though ) and had just got my allotment. The initial excitement had worn off and left cold dread in it's place, as I was faced with an over-grown field, full of buried plastic and nasty weeds. As is usual for the Vine, I had some great advice and encouragement, Snadger I think being one of the first

You were a contributor to the BobF thread that I started with too, Sarah, http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...html#post98086. I was pleased to see a few familiar names in it who are still on here now

In 5 years of being a plotholder, I've discovered that the same 'despair' feeling comes on at least once a year, usually twice, when you realise the whole thing has slipped out of your control once more

Can't remember where I first posted, but it wasn't in Introductions, because I got sent off there to tell people who I am!
I'm another natterer as well as a nutter! I think I just posted my first thread the other day tho! Normally, I just ask in someone else's thread.
Had to laugh when I was telling my son about finding this site, and that a few people had popped over and had a look at my blog. He told me - Mum, if you don't post very much and just expect people to go to your site they won't be very happy.....
Had to tell him that was unlikely since I'd only been on a couple of months and had racked up a seriously embarrassing number of posts already!Ali

Although I don't remember my first post, I do remember the circumstance. In Jan 2007 Carol Klein did a series on tv about growing your own, & I'd taken on a half plot 3 months earlier - one of her big enthusiasms was seed swapping, and I did a google search & came up with a certain Pigletwillie offering Carnival squash seeds for an SAE.
Being ignorant of the etiquette of the thing, I registered on the site & without even a post, sent PW a pm to ask if I was doing the right thing by responding to his post & asking for a few seed.
Despite me breaking all the current conventions (I would have been banned out of hand these days) - he was generosity personified - as he is in person if you are lucky enough to meet the boy!

I think I found mine
I have to say that I think there was something earlier but I can't remember what it was or find it (story of my life )
This post though, is lovely and shows me how nothing has changed and that you lot are knowledgable, friendly, funny and (mostly) a bit daftA garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
