I've just remembered this thread that I started years ago, and I thought it would be fun if our newer members could add their first posts to it.
I can't believe I was amazed when I reached 9000 posts in a year - I've made the same number each year since Sorry
"We've finally (finally!) got an allotment. I've been growing in pots and tiny beds in the equally tiny front garden for years, but now we've come to the top of the waiting list and have signed up... "
I still remember the complete sense of euphoria. And we've done better in our first growing year than I ever imagined!
For some bizarre reason I've been trying to remember my first post on here and the only one I could remember featured a naked Bob Flowerdew. Nothing changes
Here's the thread http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...owerdew-2.html
and here's the photo - be very afraid http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...tml#post105183
Special thanks to Snadger whose description of BF has stuck in my mind ever since
Can you remember your first post, anyone?
I looked at the picture ... I think I'm traumatised now. But I'll get over it.
A beaming Bob Flowerdew and a beaming Roy Lancaster ... and a strategically placed Charlie Dimmock ....
Are you thinking what I'm thinking???
Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.
Everything is worthy of kindness.
And has Bob Flowerdew "recycled his teeth"?! Ah, the poor fellow! I don't know what he'd be more indignant about, that or someone getting his recently released book half price from a clearance outlet!

I think I posted about my ancient runner bean that lived in our bedroom window for nine years, actually up until a few months ago when I finally put him outside and poor runner bean bit the dust I felt like a murderer!
